Murder Of An American Nazi, by Tim Fleming
Synopsis:
At the end of World War II the CIA, through a program called Operation Paperclip, evacuates Nazi scientists, doctors, and spies to the US, where they are provided with safe haven and jobs in our defense, aerospace, and intelligence spheres. One of the ex-Nazis, Walter Dornberger, turns up shot to death in southern Illinois in 1980. Don Hayes, the detective who investigates the murder, uncovers the truth of who Dornberger really was. The investigation takes the reader on a journey to Nazi-occupied France, the German death camps, foreign coup d'etats, the JFK assassination, and revolution in central America. One of Hayes’ suspects turns out to be a concentration camp refugee, Hannah Kanermann, whose mother and brother were brutalized by Dornberger. When Hannah discovers that the CIA helped Dornberger escape prosecution for war crimes and arranged for his safe passage to the U.S., she turns the tables on Dornberger, his Nazi cronies, and their CIA protectors. Hayes’ investigation also blows the lid off other CIA atrocities such as the drugging and brainwashing of innocent, unsuspecting citizens (MK-ULTRA); the subversion of the free press in America and its conversion into a propaganda wing of the military-industrial complex (Operation Mockingbird); and the overthrow of duly-elected governments around the world. Hayes eventually solves the murder of Dornberger, but becomes disillusioned with his country along the way.
The book is a fast-paced conspiracy thriller for those who want to know more about the real history of post-WWII America.

Well then - The Adelsverein Trilogy
It's a family saga, of a German family who come to frontier Texas in the mid-19th century. It's available through Amazon.com and a number of local Texas outlets. Al Past, who reviewed it, very kindly said that it ought to do for the Texas Hill Country what Gone With the Wind did for the Old South, and another fan described it as "Barsetshire with cypress trees ... and lots of sidearms!"
And Cows ... lots of cows.
Above the Fray, A Novel of the Union Balloon Corps, Part One and Part Two, by Kris Jackson
This is, as far as I know, the first adult novel to cover the Balloon Corps of the Union Army in the American Civil War. The Balloon Corps was the world's first air force. The intrepid aeronauts flew over the battlefields, reporting by telegraph to the generals below and directly to Lincoln in Washington.
My protagonist, Nathaniel Curry, is a fifteen-year-old telegraph operator from Richmond, Virginia, when, entirely by accident, he assists in the attack on a Confederate artillery emplacement -- the first use of an aircraft in warfare. A pariah back in Virginia, he joins the nascent Corps.
Nathaniel struggles to find his way in this strange new world. The Balloon Corps is highly effective at keeping tabs on the enemy, but the aeronauts, part technology "geeks" and part adventurers, do not fit into the military machine. Nathaniel is suspect by both sides, and even his sweetheart turns against him. As the Balloon Corps descends into chaos, Nathaniel's only friend is Abraham Lincoln, and Lincoln wants him to do something that terrifies him.
Meticulously researched, this book captures the sweep of the war and a little-known aspect of military history.
Available from Amazon in paperback and on Kindle, and from all other online booksellers. I can be reached at kris@krisjacksondesign.com. My web site is http://krisjacksondesign.com.
Hand-me-Down Bride, available at Amazon, in print & Kindle, & at Second Wind Publishing
Despite family resistence, a well-to-do older man imports a young German bride to brighten his declining years.
Less than twenty-four hours after Sophie arrives in German's Mill, Pennsylvania, events have taken a far stranger turn than anyone could have imagined.
"The author has a way of blending all the special elements which make an engaging romance, from the old time country setting to the twists and turns of the love story, as Karl & Sophie rebuild their lives and discover a surprising new love."
--Barbara Workinger (The Amish Country Mysteries)

Hi Nan, thanks for this offer to post our HF novels info. Here's mine.
Waheed Rabbani's, Doctor Margaret’s Sea Chest, is Book I of a trilogy of historical fiction novels set during India’s struggle for freedom—Azadi—from the Raj. The Books weave a tale of international intrigue, conflict, and poignant love between interesting characters of that era.
In 1965 an over 100-year-old sea chest, believed to be that of an American doctor, Margaret, is discovered in the storage room of a hospital in Delhi. Another American doctor, Sharif, who originally hails from Delhi and is on contract at the hospital, is entrusted with the task of locating the mysterious woman’s relatives and returning her trunk. Sharif tracks down Margaret’s descendants in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. Her diaries, and other artefacts—such as the Kingdom of Jhansi’s crown—are found in the coffer.
Margaret, born in New Jersey to a Scottish Presbyterian clerical family, achieves her heart’s desire, in 1850, to become one of the first North American women doctors. She marries her Canadian cousin, Robert, and travels with him to serve in the Crimean war of 1854. In Crimea, they have to not only face hardships of battles, but also endure other conflicts.
From events leading to and after the infamous Charge of the Light Brigade, Margaret meets a Russian officer. The surprise ending of Book I, leaves Margaret in a quandary, whether to seek vengeance or to continue on with her journey to India.

The Confession of Piers Gaveston by Brandy Purdy
"Confess it, My Lord; I rattle you like the glass in a casement when it thunders!"
The history books tell us that Piers Gaveston was many things: arrogant, ambitious, avaricious, flamboyant, extravagant, reckless, brave, and daring, indiscreet, handsome, witty, vivacious, vain, and peacock-proud, a soldier and champion jouster, the son of a condemned witch, who used witchcraft, his own wicked wiles, and forbidden sex to entice and enslave King Edward II, alienate him from his nobles and advisors, and keep him from the bed of his beautiful bride Isabelle. Edward's infatuation with Gaveston, and the deluge of riches he showered on him, nearly plunged England into civil war.
Now the object of that scandalous and legendary obsession tells his side of the story in The Confession of Piers Gaveston:
"Mayhap even now, when I have only just begun, it is already too late to set the story straight. My infamy, I fear, is too well entrenched. Whenever they tell the story of Edward's reign I will always be the villain and Edward, the poor, weak-willed, pliant king who fell under my spell, the golden victim of a dark enchantment. There are two sides to every coin; but when the bards and chroniclers, the men who write the histories, tell this story, will anyone remember that?"

Nan, thank you so much for this opportunity. Let's see if I can get this in the right place this time!
========================
THE PHOENIX is an explosive tale of survival, love, and revenge. One man, the actor Kit St. Denys, nearly loses the life-or-death battle against his terrifying past. The other, physician Nick Stuart, is trapped between his God and his love for Kit. Their story plays out against a background of greed and exploitation in the 1890’s world of the American theatre.
Lee Benoit, Reviewer for Uniquely Pleasurable says: “Rich and thick in the best Victorian tradition, and cool and smooth as the best contemporary romances, The Phoenix is that rare bird: a convincing historical novel with a compelling modern sensibility. I can’t recommend it highly enough.”

Personal plea: whenever possible, please patronize independent bookstores or they will go the way of the dodo bird. Hundreds have closed in the past two years. And if you use e-books, please resist the temptation to download from a “free” site. They are usually pirates, violating copyright with impunity.

Scarecrow in Gray, a Civil War Novel by Barry Yelton.
It is the story of a poor North Carolina farmer who enters the war from a sense of duty despite the fact that he has no real stake in it. His trials and tribulations, as one reviewer notes, "invokes the ghost of Bruce Catton" of "A Stillness at Appomattox" fame.
